Bin feedback program
When you incorrectly dispose of waste, the recycling process becomes less efficient and valuable resources are sent to landfill rather than being recycled.
It can also cause serious harm to people and our environment.
To uphold the health and safety of our people and planet, we do random bin inspections. If we see a contaminant or hazardous item in your bin, we will
- not empty your bin
- seal the bin shut with a sticker
- put a letter in your mailbox asking you to remove the contaminant/hazardous item
- provide a guide on how to manage your household waste.
When you have removed the contaminant/hazardous item, contact us to let us know and we will empty your bin.
