What is your connection to Brimbank?

I have been an active Brimbank member for 12 years. I’m involved in a variety of projects for the Brimbank community such as White Ribbon Day, Clean Up Day Australia for Brimbank, Healthy Mind and Healthy Body, Safety for Brimbank, etc. A few remarkable projects which continued every year were St Albans Lunar New Year Festival, Children Moon Lantern Festival, Computer and English classes for seniors and Vietnamese Traditional Music and Dance.

What do you think is the greatest strength of the Brimbank Community?

The Brimbank community is a mix of multicultural community which reap benefits of culture, ideas, opinion and lifestyle that can lead to a stronger population and economic in Brimbank.

What are your greatest concerns for Brimbank?

On the advantage of multiculturalism there’s also the disadvantage in the barrier of the language which is my greatest concern for Brimbank. People who can’t speak English may feel isolated. They can’t fully express their personality and form bonds with others. The language barriers also limit the capacity to learn new technology, especially for the seniors.

What made you decide to run for Council?

I’d like to have more chances working in the bigger projects and with the diverse community which made me decide to run for Council.

What do you hope to achieve in your term as a Brimbank City Councillor?

I hope I can represent the community’s voice well and assist the community more on my Councillor role.

What is your favourite thing to do in Brimbank?

Brimbank is a great diverse community which are enriched in culture. I love to learn about Brimbank heritage, shop and eat in different food cuisines and participate in different cultural events.
