Brimbank Community Leadership Program

Are you interested in building your leadership skills to inspire and lead positive change in your community?

We invite existing and emerging leaders who are aged 18 years or older who live, work, study or volunteer in Brimbank to enrol in this 6-week Leadership program.

The Brimbank Community Leadership Program aims to provide opportunities for eligible community members to build and strengthen their capacity in community leadership and participation.

Council delivers workshops and information sessions to equip the community with the skills and confidence to grow as leaders. The program brings together community members to build knowledge and share experience with each other. It explores practical leadership through an interactive learning community project.

What you will learn:

  • What is community leadership?
  • Leadership styles and knowing your style
  • Communication skills and public speaking
  • Project planning and working with others
  • Know about your local Council.

You will have the chance to plan and deliver a community project at the end of the project.

Sessions will be held on Wednesday mornings from 10am - 1pm at Sydenham Neighbourhood House on the following dates:

  • 30 October 2024
  • 6 November 2024
  • 13 November 2024
  • 20 November 2024
  • 27 November 2024
  • 4 December 2024
