LeadWest Committee

Role of Committee/Council

LeadWest is a collaborative venture of the councils of Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, Melton and Wyndham, seeking to support sustainable growth and regional development in Melbourne’s West.

Audit and Risk Committee

Role of Committee/Council

Committee established in accordance with section 53 of the Local Government Act 2020 to provide oversight of financial and performance reporting, risk management, fraud prevention systems and control, maintenance of a sound internal control environment, assurance activities including internal and external audit. Brimbank Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Reconciliation Action Plan Consultative Committee

Role of Committee/Council

To provide Council with advice on Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) issues and the ongoing implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

Brimbank Arts Advisory Committee

Role of Committee/Council

To oversee the operational aspects of the Brimbank Arts Collection Policy Guidelines.

Brimbank Youth Council

Role of Committee/Council

To establish and maintain a formal communication channel between Brimbank City Council and a representative group of young people aged 12 to 25 who live, work, study or socialise in the Brimbank municipality.

Brimbank Disability Advisory Committee

Role of Committee/Council

To oversee and guide the implementation, monitoring and review of the Brimbank Disability Action Plan, and advise Council on  a range of matters affecting people with disability, their families and carers.

Brimbank Economic and Employment Advisory Group 

Role of Committee

The BEEAG is an advisory committee to Brimbank City Council (Council) which operates as a round table style business forum to facilitate discussion on a broad range of local economic, investment and workforce development matters to build the City of Brimbank's (Brimbank) economic capacity and prosperity.

Safety and Wellbeing Partnership

Role of Committee/Council

To bring together strategic safety partners to collaborate and coordinate efforts to achieve greater community safety outcomes in Brimbank.

St Albans Town Centre Partnership Group

Role of Committee/Council

To establish and maintain a successful partnership with the public and private sectors to improve the vitality and commercial viability of the St Albans Town Centre through regular dialogue between Brimbank City Council, government departments and agencies, property owners, business operators, and community.

Sunshine Town Centre Partnership Group

Role of Committee/Council

Assist in the implementation of the Sunshine Rising Program. Assist Council realise the vision for Sunshine Town Centre.

Role of Committee

Committee is to provide a direct engagement channel for Council to receive feedback from members during the implementation of the Sydenham Park Master Plan. This Committee is intended to act as a community engagement activity as part of a wider Community Engagement Plan in respect of the Sydenham Park Master Plan.

Brimbank Community Fund Advisory Committee

Role of Committee/Council

To provide guidance of the administration of the Brimbank Charitable Fund.

Brooklyn Community Representative Group

Role of Committee/Council

To foster collaboration between community, industry and government, to ensure ongoing environmental management in the Brooklyn area. External group, independently facilitated with support from the EPA, and Brimbank, Hobsons Bay and Maribyrnong City Councils.

Calder Highway Improvement Committee

Role of Committee/Council

A regional local government committee whose objective is to ensure the continued upgrading of the Calder Highway.

Local Government Working Group on Gambling 

Role of Committee/Council

To support the local government sector to fulfil its various roles in relation to public health and wellbeing.

Metropolitan Transport Forum

Role of Committee/Council

Advocacy group for the promotion of effective, efficient and equitable transport in metro Melbourne.

Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) (State Council)

Role of Committee/Council

Victorian local government peak body, comprised of representatives whose role is to advocate on behalf of the industry and support its development, and represent the interests of their council by presenting its position on issues at State Council.

Western Melbourne Tourism

Role of Committee/Council

Representative group of western regional councils (except Maribyrnong), tourism industry and LeadWest. Role is to advocate, coordinate and promote events and industry development for tourism in the western metropolitan region.
