Our Maternal and Child Health Service provides information and advice about the care and health of children from birth to school age.

Need specialised help?
If your family experiencing difficulties? Our Enhanced MCH service can provides a more intensive level of support, including short-term case management. Situations where we may be able to help include:
- Children/parents with chronic or recurring illness
- Isolated families with limited support
- Depression
- Alcohol/other drugs
- Domestic violence
- Homelessness
- Vietnamese Parenting Support.

First Steps New Parents Groups
First Steps New Parents Groups
If you are a first time parent with a baby aged about 6 weeks to 4 months old you are invited to join one of our groups where you can get support and meet other new parents.
All first-time parents using Brimbank MCH services will receive an invitation to a group.

Sleep and settling groups
Sleep and settling groups
Our Maternal and Child Health Service has developed sleep and settling groups for infants, babies and toddlers.

Breastfeeding Support Service
Breastfeeding Support Service
We've partnered with Tweddle Child & Family Health Service to offer a new breastfeeding support service. It gives you extra help if you're having breastfeeding challenges.
However this is not a drop in service. You must be referred to the program by our Maternal and Child Health Service.
Support is offered based on a lactation consultant's review of referrals. Places will be offered by appointment.
- For families with babies up to 3 months old
- One-to-one support from a lactation consultant to help women who want to start breastfeeding early
- A limit of 4 families at each session
- No charge
- Runs Tuesdays and Fridays during school terms.
Tweddle will provide the service at 24 Maplewood Road, Kings Park.
The support also includes follow up phone contact to find out how effective the support has been.

We have partnered with Dads Group to provide support for fathers and families. Join an online or in-person group and access other useful resources.

The Victorian Government offers a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call 13 22 29 to discuss your concerns with a qualified maternal and child health nurse, including:
