We have a Place Naming Policy 2023 (PDF 621KB) to provide guidance for naming places in Brimbank. The major emphasis of this policy is to:
- preserve our area’s identity and heritage
- recognise our city's rich cultural and ethnic diversity
- ensure any naming decisions are made in the best interests of the whole community.
The policy was developed in line with the Geographic Place Names Act 1998 and the Naming Rules for Places in Victoria - Statutory Requirements for Naming Roads, Features and Localities.
