Your garbage bin (red lid for new bins or dark green lid for older bins) is for household rubbish.
Collected: Weekly.
Rubbish in this bin goes to landfill. Material that can be reused, recycled, or composted should not go in this bin. This bin is for household rubbish that cannot be reused, recycled or composted.
Your bin cannot weigh more than 70Kg and the bin lid must be closed and not overflowing, otherwise the truck will be unable to collect your bin.
Rubbish should be contained in bags or wrapped.
You must bring your bin in on the same day it is emptied.
The following items CANNOT go into the garbage bin:
- Batteries
- E-waste (eg. Toasters, kettles, laptops, electric toothbrushes)
- Chemicals
- Hot ash or liquids
- Construction materials, soil or rocks
